Magnificat – $15 – SOLD OUT
This is a collection of my favorite sacred Christmas carols, including In the Bleak Midwinter, I Wonder as I Wander, and The Angel Gabriel. The instrumentation draws from the talents of my band, as well as many fine classical musicians in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and central Virginia. You’ll hear harp, strings, brass, and a choir which will feature my boys, Max and Nicholas. As a former chorister and choir director, I’ve grown to love this repertoire very deeply and hope it will be as meaningful to you. Merry Christmas!
The Goodbye Party – $15 –
The Goodbye Party (original Americana) was released earlier this year and is the culmination of two years of recording for the Martha Bassett Band (Sam Frazier on guitar, Pat Lawrence on bass, Ben Singer on keyboard/banjo, and Eddie Walker on drums). We added string and horn sections to several songs, which made for a big, lush sound. Pat Lawrence produced TGP, and it includes some of our most popular songs, such as Masquerade, Shake, Mother, and Wicked Witch.
In Your Dreams – $15 –
In Your Dreams (jazz) is a collection of my favorite ballads from the AmericanSongbook. It was released in 2007. Pianist Karen Kendrick, bassist Matt Kendrick, and drummer John Wilson made for a delightful rhythm section, augmented by some of the Triad’s best horn soloists. Guitarist, Scott Manring accompanied me on 3 selections. This disc pairs well with good red wine and candlelight.
Sinner’s Prayer – $15 –
Sinner’s Prayer (original Americana) was released in 2009 and features songs written by Justin Poindexter and me. This was my first disc of mostly original music, and was performed by what was (in essence) my first Americana band: Justin on guitar, Nathan Scott on bass, and Terry Lonergan and Max Wood on drums.
